    Break the Fast

The Break the Fast dinner happens at the end of the Yom Kippur holiday, the holiest day of the year. After spending the day fasting and thinking about ways to be a better person, everyone is hungry and looking for easy-to-digest comfort foods. And it's ideal to serve food that can be prepared in advance.

I like to serve fish (Smoked Salmon Spread on bagels or Roasted Whole Salmon with Fennel), a dairy casserole (Apple Noodle Kugel or Make-Ahead Mac and Cheese), a light soup like Parsnip and Apple Soup, and fresh fruit. See more ideas below.

    • Malabi (Dairy-Free Pudding)
    • The Best Chocolate Rugelach
    • Easy Homemade Chunky Applesauce
    • Apple Blueberry Crisp
    • Savory Apple and Butternut Squash Soup
    • Easy One Bowl Apple Cake
    • Make Ahead White Cheddar Mac and Cheese
    • Jewish Apple Honey Cake
    • Parsnip and Apple Soup
    • Spinach and Feta Bourekas (Puff Pastry Appetizers)
    • Italian Frittata with Zucchini and Tomato
    • Salmon and Cream Cheese Mousse
    • Easy Blintz Soufflé Casserole
    • Honey Cookies
    • Baked Whole Salmon Fillet with Citrus and Fennel
    • Sharon's Creamy Cauliflower Soup (Dairy-Free)
    • Maple Syrup and Blueberry Pancake Muffins (dairy-free, whole wheat)
    • My Quest for the Ultimate Sweet Apple Noodle Kugel
