    Purim

Purim is a fun Jewish holiday full of merriment and lots of hamantaschen, which are triangular shaped cookies with fillings. There are many hamantaschen recipes out there, and I've tried and tweaked many of them until I came up with this version which is a little buttery and subtly flavored. I avoided all the pitfalls, so they're not too hard, dry, or bland. Plus, I give tips for keeping the folded cookies closed.

There really aren't any other specific foods to go with the holiday, but I think it's fun to serve other triangular shaped foods such as Pizza Hamantaschen, Arayes (meat stuffed pitas cut into triangles), and the others below. Or when in doubt, this holiday is a great opportunity to serve your favorite Jewish dishes.

    • Kousa Mahshi (Stuffed Zucchini with meat and rice)
    • Maamoul (Date Filled Cookies)
    • Easy Lahmacun (Turkish Pizza)
    • Classic Hamantaschen with Butter
    • Homemade Chocolate Mold Lollipops
    • Arayes (Meat Stuffed Pitas)
    • Spinach and Feta Bourekas (Puff Pastry Appetizers)
    • Mini Pizza Hamantaschen
    • Shortcut Kreplach with Brisket or Potato Filling
